Korean War Vet and U.S. Air Force Band Leader Victor J. Golgata, 82, Has Died

In his youth, he was a catcher for the former Boston Braves baseball farm team.

Victor J. Golgata, 82, of Framingham, died, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at St. Patrick Manor in Framingham. Born in Southborough, he was the son of the late Venanzio and Marietta (Morazzini) Golgata. In his youth, he was a catcher for the former Boston Braves baseball farm team, according to his obituary from Norton Funeral Home. During the Korean War, he served in the US Air Force as a flights teward and was also an accordion player and band leader for the US Air Force Band stationed in Hawaii, stated his obituary. Golgata worked in the construction industry and formerly worked for Perini Construction Company, the former Builder’s Realty and later retired from the Town of Framingham.
