The organized protest purposely coincided with an assembly in which teen boys were asked to pledge not to commit violence against women.
Framingham High teens this morning protested against what they say was a lack of response to two sexual assaults at the high school. The teenagers said they are upset by the lack of response by many adults - school, police and the district attorney's office - to two sexual assaults that they and at least one school employee say happened at Framingham High last spring. The assaults were allegedly perpetrated by the same male athlete against two different female students inside the school. "It is time to expose what has been hidden for too long," said senior Jessica Krueger. "I can't allow the school to keep hiding these incidents." Nearly 20 students scheduled their protest at the same time as Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone was …

The Rebels were tied, 21-21, with Framingham with 2:24 to go in the fourth quarter.
Looking ahead after last week's win over Braintree, Walpole Head Coach Barry Greener said that a tough Framingham team would give them a run for their money Friday night. He wasn't kidding. The Rebels were tied with Framingham, 21-21, in the fourth quarter before running back Cam Hanley scored on a four-yard run up the gut to give Walpole a 27-21 lead, after a botched PAT attempt, with 2:24 to go in the game. Framingham, who had been clicking offensively all night, wasn't done as they drove to the Rebel 34 yard line with 1:28 left in the quarter. On second down the Flyers needed one yard to pick up a first down. The Rebels defense would have the final say, however, as they stopped Framingham on three straight plays to take over on downs. …

The NFL, its clubs, players and the NFL Players Association have kicked off in October a "Crucial Catch," a partnership with the American Cancer Society, as a way to raise fund and awareness for annual breast cancer screenings. Throughout October, NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel, on-field pink ribbon stencils, special game balls and pink coins - all to help raise awareness and funds for this important campaign. This year a number of Massachusetts High Schools have agreed to join in the effort. Framingham High is the first school in the Bay State Conference to host a “Crucial Catch” game. Last week, the cheerleaders wore pink ribbons and the players pink socks. Tonight, Framingham High …

Framingham Flyers are now 1-3 on the season.
The Lincoln-Sudbury football team doesn’t fall behind very often, but when Framingham scored the first touchdown of the game Friday night at a jam-packed Myers Field, the Warriors responded immediately. L-S staged a major rally behind two touchdowns each from backup quarterback Henry Guild and Jack Harris to defeat Framingham, 35-14, during the Warriors' home opener Friday night. After Framingham’s 46-yard touchdown drive following a fumble recovery, Lincoln-Sudbury marched 71 yards down the field, scoring on a 1-yard run by Chris Giorgio. Brian Carroll’s 40-yard run was the key play of the drive. Lincoln-Sudbury had the lead 7-6 going into the second quarter and never looked back. After Framingham’s first possession of the second quarter…

The Framingham High School Flyers lost to Newton North Tigers 23-21.
The Newton North defense, tired and having allowed Framingham to score on its previous three possessions erasing a 20-point advantage, was asked to make a stop. The Tigers defenders had just been handed the 23-21 lead with Nate Menninger booting a 22-yard field goal through the uprights in the waning minutes of the contest. They now faced preventing the Flyers from converting on a fourth-and-one at Framingham’s 30-yard line. The black and orange did not fail as senior Jack Ingham stuffed running back Matthew Cronin for a two-yard loss. Newton North regained possession and ran out the clock for the victory. “We always talk about that football doesn’t build character, it reveals character,” said Tigers coach Peter Capodilupo. “I told the …

Framingham High senior Theresa Scruton plays wide receiver and said she's treated just like everyone else.
Theresa Scruton, a Framingham High School senior, managed the boys’ football team for two years. Then she decided she’d rather be out on the field herself. “I got tired of standing on the sidelines. I wanted to play,” Theresa said. She now plays wide receiver and is the only girl on the team. She uses a separate locker room but, otherwise, said being female isn’t an issue with her male counterparts. “They don’t take it easy on me. They treat me as one of the guys,” she said. In the summer, Theresa attended the football team’s morning workouts from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Now, that school has started, the 17-year-old has a full schedule, staying after school with teachers to do homework every afternoon, followed by football …

Isn't the school the place where children learn? Learn that bad behaviour is not tolerated? How could they allow this to happen twice! And the kid was an adult! How is THAT not illegal? How could they want the kid to stay in school? What would they want done if it was their daughter who got molested? What is wrong with people?   more ›
