DA: Framingham Man Tortured, Killed Dog
A District Court judge ordered the Framingham man held on $20,000 cash bail; there is also an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer on him.
A Framingham man was arraigned Monday on animal abuse charges after allegedly killing his dog and disposing of it in a Dumpster, said Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone. Douglas A. Coelho, 27, Beaver Street, Framingham, was arrested Friday night by Framingham Police. “This defendant is alleged to have inflicted extreme cruelty to a helpless animal by striking his own dog, torturing and killing the dog, and then disposing of her in a Dumpster,” Leone said in a press release. “This behavior demonstrates a disturbing and very concerning disregard for life.” Framingham District Court Judge Douglas Stoddart ordered the defendant held on $20,000 cash bail with the condition that he have no contact with domesticated animals.
