Thunder is still rolling through Framingham, some streets have minor flooding; but we'd love to see your photos and videos. Upload them here.
Thunder is still rolling through town, some streets have minor flooding, but we'd love to see your photos and videos. Upload them here. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Framingham and Southern New England earlier today. There are reports that Route 9 eastbound at the Route 126 intersection is blocked off due to flooding. (No surprise for long-time residents or Framingham Patch readers.) I'd avoid for a while.

With rain bands dropping up to 2-3 inches of rain per hour, Framingham is now in a flash flood warning, according to the National Weather Service. It has been raining in Framingham since just after 1:30 p.m. At times the rain has been heavy. The weather service said these bands of 2-3 inches of rain per hour could continue, when it issued its warning just after 4 p.m. A flash flood warning means that waters could rise quickly and streets could flood. Take caution and don't drive through flooded roads. The warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m. There are reports of localized flooding on parts of Route 9 and various side streets in Framingham.
Irene is expected to drop heavy rain in Framingham into late Sunday night. Here is video of the rain already causing localized street flooding in South Framingham near the Ashland line just before 2 p.m. Saturday.
