ReplyExactly, Rich. And exactly what should be done by the administration at FHS. Sickening and sad at the same time.

Father of 3 - this will be the only time I respond to you, as it is my own policy not to respond to people who hide behind fake screen names. I'll give you a couple examples: teachers at Hemenway cancelling elementary school kids' math club, anda high school teacher who refuses to stay for 15 minutes of extra help, for an honors student worried about mid-terms....etc. My son (and I) have loved all of his teachers and we are very, very appreciative (and have told and shown them often). I just don't think punishing the kids is the right way to go about getting this done.

ReplyI love Brad's first 2 sentences... why leave the students in the lurch and use them as pawns? I think that's what most parents want to understand. I don't see how picking four schools (not all of the schools?) proves a point? What IS the point of standing outside in the freezing cold? The teachers want a contract? We know. The more the teachers' union makes the kids suffer, the less support they get from the parents. It's called negotiation, not demand.

ReplyThe Sports Pub on Route 9, next to Framingham Ford, is the best place in Framingham to watch the games. Great, inexpensive food and drinks, plus the biggest and newest TVs in town (90 inch)!!! Great people, plenty of seating with great views of all the televisions - lots of fun!!! (508) 665-6020.

On the article LETTER: $600,000 in Administrative Positions Added, Teachers Contract Still Unsettled

ReplyMaybe one of the teachers from the Framingham Teachers' Association can answer the question many parents have (the very parents the teachers are looking for back-up from): why is punishing and refusing extra help to the kids, helpful in getting the contract dispute settled? I think it's a terrible way to go about "negotiating".

Here is a link to the Boston Strong t-shirts, that the two Emerson students are selling in order to help the One Fund. I think it's a great, small way to help and show solidarity.
