ReplyI have used the commuter rail out of Framingham on and off since coming to town. For two years I traveled to Worcester and worked 5:30 p.m. to midnight. It was a nightly sprint from the office to Union Station to catch the 12:10 last train back to Framingham. That reverse evening commute also showed that there were many people traveling to Worcester to work in the hospitals on various night shifts. Framingham is fortunate to be between Worcester and Boston and have access to all the workplaces along the commuter rail corridor. To cut service on the line would be like severing an artery.

ReplyRecreational trails have a way of bringing neighborhoods and communities together. While there will always be the NIMBYs out there, the truth is forward thinking and concerned residents will overwhelmingly support use of the acqueducts for recreational purposes. Concerns about who will maintain, who will police, who will monitor the trails are non-issues and only raised by people who want to keep the status quo and not see Framingham, Nobscot, Saxonville blossom into vibrant communities where residents can enjoy an active lifestyle.

Military and law enforcement personnel should be the only persons in this society who are allowed to carry weapons that target other people. The idea that a neighborhood watch person is allowed to carry a pistol is ludicrious. A careful and thoughtful reading of the Article 2 is abundantly clear that the right to bear arms is soley for the purpose of protecting the citizenary from outside (ie foreign) agressors. There is no issue with sportspeople and collectors having and using guns in support of their passions. But how can we as a people justify allowing young adults to carry weapons on the street in the name of protection?
