  Flowers by the Station is my go-to place for ANYTHING! This little spot turns out the most gorgeous arrangements it's hard to believe there aren't elves in there making magic! People always want to take pictures of the flowers I get from them. And whether you have to arrange a funeral to a wedding (and I have done both with them) they really listen to what you want and execute it perfectly. I still can't believe that a place like this is right here in Attleboro and not in LA or New York!

  Seriously - these french fries out to be ILLEGAL they are so good! I don't like fries because they are almost always a disappointment. Not here - hot, fresh, a good "snap" but tender and fluffy on the inside.....and guess what? They taste like POTATO!!! Not like oil.....not like an old freezer....not like seasoning used to disguise poor quality product. Even though I shouldn't have them (thanks to a gluten issue), I nibbled a few on the way home and had to tell my son to take them away from me if he wanted any at all. YUM!

  We enjoyed a *delicious* meal there last night! And since I have had to go GF (gluten free) I have been very wary of dining out but I am happy to say that the 400 gets an A rating for being allergen sensitive. Despite the fact that one menu selection in which I was particularly interested typically contains flour as a thickener, Nicole, our capable and knowledgeable server, consulted with the person who would actually be preparing my meal and he gave me the no worry green light on one of the best Veal Saltimbocca iterations I have had in a long time. The special Roasted Beet salad was excellent, the hubby loved his gigantic eggplant parm and the kid wasn't quite able to finish his perfectly cooked, large and exceptionally tasty NY Strip steak. DH also reported that the cannoli was as near to those from Modern Pastry as once can get.

  Great ambiance, tasty and plentiful food and delicious cocktails (at a lot less than other places!) made for a really nice night out!

  I am a perpetual beginning knitter. I WANT to be able to knit beautiful things but I don't have the "knitting gene". The ladies at Knit Purl are SO patient and SO helpful and so KIND with me that they have helped me get over my knitting phobias and I am finally learning! They all clearly have a love of the craft and don't mind taking the time to help novices and experts alike. Knit Purl also carries a FABULOUS collection of zillions of kinds of yarns, each one more gorgeous than the last. From patterns to books to notions to needles, they have EVERYTHING and they are just SO NICE!! NB: I went to a store that bragged about their "discount prices"; guess what? The prices at Knit Purl are JUST AS GOOD as the "discount" store but with boutique service!

  Saw Dr. Facella today for an emergency appointment. He and every one of his staff could not have been any nicer and Dr. Facella saved a tooth that had previously been deemed a lost cause. Looks like the whole family has a great dentist now! (Just a note that they are located on the fourth floor of 1671 Worcester Road, in the same parking lot as the Sheraton Tara.)

  Recently I blogged here about this establishment being a place where someone who follows a gluten free diet can enjoy tasty and "safe" food. I returned recently and wanted to post an update.

  I had the opportunity to taste test their gluten free hamburger buns - something I usually skipped anyway - and found them to be quite good. They are, of course, more dense than a standard yeast and flour roll but this one was soft yet sturdy and had no grittiness or off-flavor like some GF bread products made with too much guar or xanthan gum.

  Then, a short time later, another meeting and I sampled the GF margherita pizza. This was also quite good, not at all gritty, certainly more of the crisp version of crust, but again a very nice vehicle for the cheese, tomatoes and fresh basil.

  I can't say enough complimentary things about the staff and management at Joe's; they are all very committed to ensuring that anyone with good allergies, sensitivities and preferences are well cared for.
