On the article Two Framingham Restaurants have Closed: Firefly's and Green Chili

ReplyI personally will miss Firefly's tremendously! The staff there was great, the food was delicious (and not a chain!), it was, aside from Nobscot's I believe, the ONLY place in North Framingham to hear live music for FREE - at the open mic on Wednesday and then acoustic groups on Friday nights - and for lunch they had a yummy brunch buffet. I went there for YEARS on a regular basis, as did a lot of nearby residents. It was a neighborhood hang-out in the best sense of the word. :(

ReplyAmazing Things Arts Center! When our community choir, Voices of MetroWest, a non-profit 501c3 organization, was looking for a place to perform beyond our home-base church space in Natick, TCAN was not interested, and yet Amazing Things Arts Center welcomed us into their Sunday "emerging artists" program. We've sold out 2 shows there to date, and intend to do so again this December! Ticket sales enable us to offer charitable performances in our community, such as the one we just held as part of Relay for Life at the Natick High School. Thanks for your support, Amazing Things!

Reply"We are concurrently working hard to maintain our home office location at 770 Cochituate Road in Framingham, which, together with Marlborough, would provide TJX with two major campuses operating in close proximity to one another."
What this doesn't say is "we will maintain our home office location at 770 Cochituate Road which, together with Marlborough, will provide.... ". Any one else intrigued by the careful word selection?

ReplyAt a time when the Natick Service Council has a very needy pantry, it would be nice if the "salvage company" could review and approve donation of the canned goods to serve a community need.

On the article 5 Tips and Easy Meal Ideas for Busy Families

ReplyBack when my children were small, a fellow Realtor taught me a really easy trick for busy weekdays. Monday was Taco night, Tuesday was pork chops, Wednesday was pasta, Thursday was baked chicken. I saved the "creativity" for days I had more time... and changed the daily menu seasonally. The children didn't get bored because they liked what we were eating, it was simple, and took the whole "what's for dinner?" question out of the equation. It was a plan that worked well in my busy life that allowed very little time for cooking or shopping, but also required that I be budget conscious and nutritionally smart.

ReplyAlthough we didn't have children with us, there were tons of families at Cranes Beach in Ipswich, which was gorgeous and had a significant sandbar even at high tide. Public restrooms, showers, snack bar.... and about a 45 minute ride from here. Parking was a bit steep at $25, and we had to get there by 10:30 on a sunday to get a parking spot. Still worth it :)
