Editor's Picks: 5 Places To Order Corned Beef & Cabbage in Framingham

And as part of its March menu, Framingham Beer Works is serving an Irish Amber Lager, a Crimson Clover Irish Red, a Dublin Dark Ale and Irish Cream Stout.

Happy St. Patrick Day's!

Many will seek to have a traditional New England Boiled Dinner today, also known as corned beef and cabbage.

Ironically, the meal associated with St. Patrick's Day is not a Irish specialty but more of an Irish-American favorite. The main reason is that when the Irish settled in America, they could not find the bacon, the Irish typically used for its bacon and cabbage meal.

Here are five locations in Framingham where you can get a corned beef and cabbage meal today:

1. Eagles All-American Grill will hold its annual all-you-can-eat corned beef and cabbage dinner for $9.95 per person. Reservations are suggested.

2. O'Connell's Pub will serve a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner. There is a fundraiser for the Framingham High hockey team today at O'Connell's today from noon to 8 p.m.

3.  Nobscot's Cafe will offer a corned beef dinner, with live entertainment from the Belfast Cowboys.

4. Ken's Steakhouse will be serving a corned beef and cabbage dinner for $12.95, with Irish tuned on the piano in the main dining room.

5. 99 Restaurant will offer a special St. Patrick's Day menu featuring corned beef and cabbage, stout BBQ brisket sandwich and green beer.

BONUS: Framingham Beer Works this month is serving an Irish Amber Lager, a Crimson Clover Irish Red, a Dublin Dark Ale and Irish Cream Stout as part of its special March menu.
