Coach Bobby Brown Has Died

Framingham resident Bobby Brown, who was active in Framingham hockey for 50 years, died Tuesday morning.

Coach Bob Brown, 77, passed away this morning with his family by his side.

"Brownie was not only a coach, but a loving, caring, and passionate friend of Framingham Youth Hockey Program for the last 50 years. FYHP, Loring Arena, and the Town of Framingham will not be the same without him," posted Joel Idelson on the Framingham Youth Hockey website.

For over a half century, Brown was a fixture for Framingham hockey. He was a volunteer coach for all levels of Framingham Youth hockey, Framingham South High School, and Framingham High School.

Brown served as a varsity assistant, a junior varsity head coach, and one night last February against Medford was the varsity head coach.
