SLIDESHOW: Cruzeiro Scores Soccer Victory in Framingham

Brazilian team Cruzeiro defeated a team from Miami-Dade 5-1 Sunday afternoon at Bowditch Field in Framingham.

Cruzeiro midfielder Johnath Marlone scored three goals in the Brazilian team's 5-1 victory over Miami-Dade Sunday afternoon at Bowditch Field in Framingham.

This was the first of five matches by Cruzeiro in America.

Cruzeiro is one of Brazil's most accomplished soccer clubs, founded in 1921. The club typically plays in the Campeonato Mineiro, of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and the Brasileirão, the top tier of the Brazilian league. Cruzeiro last won the Brazilian and Mineiro championships in 2013.

Early in the match Júlio Baptista scored on a header. Rookie Manoel scored next, before Marlone, 22, scored his three goals.

Miami-Dade's lone goal was by Diego Urtado.
