Blood Drive to Help Framingham Second Grader Fighting Leukemia

Blood Drive is Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Dunning Elementary School.

Dunning Elementary School PTO and Friends of the Tierneys have organized a blood drive to help Emma Tierney, 7, a second grade girl at Dunning Elementary battling Leukemia.

There are about 70 slots and organizers are hoping for volunteers to fill them all. The blood drive is Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 1 to 7 p.m at Dunning Elementary on Frost Street.

Note: As the blood drive is at the Framingham elementary school, anyone who arrives before 3:30 p.m. is asked to park on Frost Street, to allow for dismissal of the students and parent pick up.

Those who would like to help can register at Pints for Half Pints at  https://www.halfpints.childrenshospital.org/index.cfm?group=op&expand=1501&zc=01701

Questions about the blood drive can be sent to PintsForEmma@gmail.com

Friends of the Tierneys are also holding a fundraiser, at the request of the Framingham family, and all money raised will go directly to the Resource Room on the 6th floor of Boston Children's where Emma and other children can play games, do arts and crafts.

Last month, Friends of the Tierneys raised more than $20,000 to help the Tierney family directly.

Organizers are looking for donations from local businesses or families (gift cards, sports tickets, etc) for a silent auction.

Those who would like to help can email PintsForEmma@gmail.com. Organizers have received permission from Children's Hospital in Boston for this event and have an endorsement letter which we can share with anyone who needs it.
